The Makers Series // Maker No.7 Rosie Anderson

Rosie lives on a small farm on the border between Devon and Cornwall. Rosie and her family really love sheep, so she has a flock of around 80 ewes. Although the farm is not registered organic, Rosie always tries to choose low inputs and do everything in the most natural and environmentally friendly way possible. They are also big fans of wildlife of all sorts, and they have left plenty of sheep-free areas on their farm so that wildlife can thrive. Over the last few years, Rosie and her family have worked with Devon Wildlife Trust to create some beautiful species-rich wildflower meadows. Last year she even introduced water voles back into the ponds, and they are lucky enough to have a resident barn owl who they absolutely adore! One of Rosie’s family members (who is also a talented felt maker) gave her a beautiful Felted Sheepskin rug as a wedding present and she still has it today—

The sheepskin is just as beautiful as the day we received it. They kindly taught us the art of creating these rugs, and now I work alongside my mum so it's a real family affair. We hope you'll love and enjoy our felted sheepskins just as much as we love making them.” - Rosie.
